Start with a list before the season
Write down what you actually need before the sales begin. A list stops you buying something only because it is reduced, and lets you compare an offer with what you would have paid anyway.
Watch the price before the discount
Some stores raise a price before a season and then cut it. Note an item’s price two weeks before the sales and compare with it when you buy.
Stack a code on a markdown
Many stores take a discount code on top of the seasonal markdown. Try the code in the basket before paying, and read its terms: some codes do not work on reduced items.
Mind delivery and returns
A 20% discount can vanish if delivery is expensive or returns are not free. Work out the final price before you decide.
